Paul Philip Greatbatch, 56, Indianapolis, died December 28, 2012 with life companion Susan Thompson at his side, and surrounded by family.

Paul graduated from Purdue University and was founder and president of UP Enterprises, a business development and marketing company. He will be remembered for his appearances in Indianapolis theaters, continuing his career in Chicago and Los Angeles, where he appeared in films including Opportunity Knocks and Vice Versa. He also sang in choirs at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Buffalo, New York, and Indianapolis’ All Saints Episcopal Church and Christ Church Cathedral, touring with the local cathedral’s men and boys choir in England and the continent. Paul was on the board of directors for Echoing Air, a Baroque Music Ensemble.

In addition to Susan, survivors include Paul’s mother, Shirley Greatbatch, sister, Kathleen (Ritch) Hanna, brother, Mark Greatbatch and beloved nieces and nephews Megan Bucks, Fiona and Ryann Brock, Brandy Browning, Megan Thompson, Dustin and Kayla Raymann. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald N. Greatbatch.

Visitation is scheduled at All Saints church Friday, January 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A choral funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ Church Cathedral Saturday, January 12 at 11:00 am.     Mrs Greatbatch , Kathy, Mark and family. I want to extend my deepest sympathy. I remember Paul way back when on Parkhurst Blvd.when we were kids and all the fun we had and teasing Paul gave us.
